Starting at the end of my junior year at ASU, I got a wonderful opportunity at Intel. On a daily basis I communicated between my stakeholders and suppliers to track engineering commits, software and hardware deliveries, and driving new process development for new products. It was awesome working with such a diverse manufacturing team from across the world. Skills Developed: Excel, Process Control Charts, JMP, many Soft Skills and Business Acumen

The Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation (AzCATI) is primarily a research and commercialization center for algae-based products, such as Biofuels. My primary responsibilities as a summer assistant were to help maintain the lab and support the activities they run. Thus, I helped clean the mixing tanks, and the ponds for new sample introduction. Repaired broken pumps and other equipment as needed.

As a teaching assistant, I was able to lead controlled class instructions in regard to material science and structures. The summer led class allowed me to get my first academic related job experience. I found this job very rewarding as I was able to get a better understanding of the fundamentals of material science by teaching, clarifying and grading homework. As an assistant, I felt I was effectively able to lead class discussions, although difficult, while being a bridge between the main professor and students.
I understood the challenges of being a young entrepreneur, having to run one’s own personal business. Worked about 70 hours a week going door to door in a different state for the entire summer. This experience helped me understand how to make good first impressions, communicate effectively and maintain discipline in the face of adversity. The growth I went through as a result of this experience, still has a big impact on my life. Learn to trust the process.
